An Exciting Idea on the Horizon for the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Society

Founded by General William Donovan in 1947, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Society honors the historic accomplishments of the OSS during World War II. It was the first organized effort by the United States to implement a centralized system of strategic intelligence and the predecessor to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the U.S. Special Operations Command.

OSS educates the American public about the continuing importance of strategic intelligence and special operations in order to preserve freedom in the United States and around the world.

Schultz & Williams (S&W) is partnering with OSS Society to help its leaders and staff realize a long-time vision to create a National Museum of Intelligence and Special Operations (NMISO) that will focus on the history and impact of intelligence gathering, covert warfare and special operations from the founding of our country to the present day. The NMISO will emphasize the relevance that this history has had on our current civic and social life and will support the telling of that story through interpretive exhibits, public programs and a robust educational program.

S&W’s is implementing a two-phased planning process—conducting a campaign readiness assessment and developing a capital campaign plan—to raise the funds needed to build the Museum. The plan will prepare the OSS Society for an effective fundraising campaign.

“We are honored to be helping OSS Society take these important steps toward building a national museum that will enlighten all of us about OSS’s missions and accomplishments on behalf of our nation and the world,” said S&W President Scott Schultz.
