Schultz & Williams is pleased to announce its partnership with Penn AC Rowing. For 150 years Penn AC has been a cornerstone for the rowing community along Boathouse Row in Philadelphia. The Club has a long history of producing national team athletes that have competed at the World Rowing Championships and the Olympic Games through its training facilities and the development of high-performance/elite rowers. Additionally, Penn AC supports a diverse master’s rowing program that includes men and women, former Olympic and National Team members, former college and high school rowers, as well as rowers who began the sport as adults. The Club also runs Learn-to-Row classes that are open to the public;  houses three high school rowing programs (tenants) during the school year; and during the summer it runs a national competitive and intensive summer rowing camp for high school boys and girls. In addition to its rowing programs, members of the Club are involved in education about and the promotion of the sport of rowing, and they also participate in community service projects and the Schuylkill Navy community outreach programs and regattas.

Founded in 1871, the Penn AC boathouse site is individually listed in the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places. Boathouse Row, including Penn AC, is also listed in the National Register as part of the Fairmount Park National Register District and part of the Boathouse Row National Historic Landmark District. Our partnership with Penn AC will focus on putting the infrastructure in place for and supporting a capital campaign to fund a significant expansion of the boathouse, which is imperative to meeting the spatial and functional needs for the current programs provided by Penn AC and for programs planned for the future.

“I am truly honored to be working with the most iconic boathouse on Boathouse Row. The impact of Penn AC on Philadelphia and beyond cannot be underestimated, and this campaign to renovate and expand the boathouse is absolutely critical to ensuring that impact continues long into the future. “If you want to put some time behind the weight of an oar, Penn AC will provide you with one.”
