S&W StaffSolutions client, Greene Towne Montessori School (GTMS), has signed a 10-year lease on a 33,007 square foot space located at 2140 Arch St. in Center City, Philadelphia. Until last fall, when Hurricane Ida flooded one of its classroom buildings and led the School to lease space in the former Hallahan High School, GTMS had operated out of two smaller buildings along the same street.  Architectural firm LP2 will help the School design the interior of its expansive new home to support the Montessori philosophy of building independence and confidence in children.

Sarah Sweeney-Denham, head of school, notes, “We want spaces that are inspired by natural elements such as wood and light and have space for children to move freely and have full access to anything they need to learn and grow. Everything is designed for the children.” One special element of GTMS’s new location will be a 4,000 square foot roof deck, which will serve as an outdoor play space. Greene Towne plans to open the doors of its new building this fall, with the hope of consolidating the entire school community under one roof by the 2023-2024 academic year.
