Providence Animal Center (Providence) is dedicated to providing life-affirming rescue, medical care, treatment, and placement for companion animals. It plays a vital role in the community by saving and improving the lives of animals while fostering the human-animal bond.
Providence is located in Media, PA, with a satellite location in Radnor, PA, home to Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals (Francisvale). Providence oversees a national mobile spay/neuter program called Fido Fixers and provides high-quality services to over 22,000 animals annually. Providence maintains a commitment to animal welfare and community service underscoring their vital role in promoting responsible pet ownership and improving the lives of animals in the region.

The Challenge
Providence has experienced significant growth programmatically, necessitating the development of a more structured and strategic fundraising approach. With recent staffing shifts and a goal of expanding donor engagement, Providence needed additional support to build and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan. The challenge was growing donor engagement and maintaining financial stability while enhancing staff capacity to manage major and mid-level donor relationships, corporate sponsorships, and grant applications.
The Solution
Through S&W StaffSolutions, we provided ongoing staffing support to oversee key fundraising activities and ensure alignment across donor channels. S&W assisted in developing and managing the annual giving program at all levels of giving, corporate sponsorship efforts, and grant applications. In addition, the team worked closely with Providence’s leadership to restructure the department while they sought to hire a new Major Gifts Officer, Annual Giving Manager, and Advancement Associate, and to integrate Francisvale and Fido Fixers donors into Providence’s supporter base. This partnership enabled Providence to build a more effective donor pipeline, strengthen relationships with existing donors, and increase engagement with new prospects, ensuring continued growth and success in fulfilling its mission.
