Elizabeth Grant
Senior Consultant
Overview
Elizabeth brings more than 20 years’ experience in arts and culture nonprofit leadership to her role as a Senior Consultant. She has directed education, public programs, and exhibitions teams for leading museums and collections in Philadelphia, New York City, and London, and has a depth of experience in all aspects of program administration, including strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and audience development, marketing and communications, evaluation, and fundraising.
Prior Experience
Elizabeth is an experienced program builder. As Chief Program Officer for the National Liberty Museum, she drove efforts to reposition the museum in Philadelphia’s Historic District. In under four years at NLM, she built a changing exhibition program, expanded learning opportunities to new and more diverse audiences, resulting in a 50% increase in program participation and over $450K in transformational funding to support new programming initiatives. As Head of Learning for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in the UK, she built a national learning program from the ground-up, devising the business model for a self-sustaining program of workshops, classes, and events for all ages and helped secure £300K to create a ground-breaking Clore Learning Centre for Architecture in the RIBA’s London headquarters.
Elizabeth believes that museums and cultural institutions play an essential role in community building, and she is most proud of her work to launch the Citizenship Initiative, a free program that utilizes the collections and galleries at the Museum of the American Revolution to prepare Green Card holders to pass the USCIS citizenship test.
Elizabeth serves on the boards of the National Council for History Education, an organization dedicated to championing history education and educators, and of Artblog, a community dedicated to creating and fostering dialogue about art, power, value and truth to promote a better future for all.
