Development Intern 

Location: Hybrid: candidates must be based in Boston, Washington, DC, or Philadelphia 

Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week (Monday–Thursday) 

Duration: 8-week summer internship, mid-June through early August 

Compensation: $23 per hour 

Schultz & Williams is seeking a Development Intern to join our summer internship program. This paid opportunity is ideal for a rising junior or senior who is interested in fundraising, nonprofit consulting, and mission-driven work. 

This internship offers hands-on exposure to the day-to-day work of a nonprofit consulting firm. Interns will support client service and internal projects while gaining experience in research, project coordination, fundraising strategy, and professional services. This is a strong opportunity for a student who is organized, curious, detail-oriented, and excited to learn in a collaborative environment. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Prepare meeting agendas and materials 
  • Take notes during internal and client meetings 
  • Proofread and format documents 
  • Conduct prospect and fundraising research 
  • Assist with donor profiles and research summaries 
  • Support business development and pipeline research 
  • Assist with internal event planning and coordination 
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and intern cohort sessions 
  • Provide general project and administrative support as needed

Who You Are 

  • A rising junior or senior currently enrolled in a college or university or recent 2026 graduate 
  • Interested in nonprofits, fundraising, consulting, or strategy work 
  • Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented 
  • A strong writer and communicator 
  • Comfortable conducting research and summarizing findings 
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Prior internship, volunteer, or campus leadership experience 
  • Interest in philanthropy, fundraising, or nonprofit consulting 
  • Experience with writing, research, or administrative support work
