Overview
Danielle specializes in grant writing. A gifted storyteller with a background in journalism, she’s been a writer and editor for ABC News and an editor and contributor for national media outlets. In the nonprofit sector, she has excelled as a multifaceted development and communications professional, providing strategies to increase fundraising revenue and effectively convey mission and initiatives. She earned a certificate of completion for the Principles of Fundraising course through the College of Professional Studies at Villanova University.
Prior Experience
Prior to joining S&W, Danielle was the Director of Development for Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse, a century-old institution for Philadelphia families focusing on playful learning and children’s physical and emotional well-being. At Smith, Danielle oversaw all fundraising activities, including grant writing, corporate sponsorships, donor relations, and event planning. Her writing earned Smith Playground a coveted spot as a finalist in the city-wide Leave a Legacy grant competition with Philadelphia250, which will engage children in civic action projects through the city’s 2026 semiquincentennial celebrations.
