Grand View Health Foundation
Grand View Health Foundation faced the challenge of improving access to ambulatory care, enlarging facilities for outpatient services and renovating inpatient areas. Plans called for taking outpatient care off the main campus of the Hospital. A capital campaign was mounted to raise $8 million toward the construction of two new off-site ambulatory care units and making the needed improvements to the main hospital facility.
Schultz & Williams Approach:
Schultz & Williams was retained initially to conduct a campaign planning study. The positive results of the study led to the preparation of a detailed campaign plan. The firm was also involved in defining cultivation and solicitation strategies for major prospects and in training members of the Campaign Steering Committee. Schultz & Williams also helped plan the public phase of the campaign.
This campaign became the largest in the Hospital’s history – exceeding its initial goal and raising nearly $9 million in 18 months. Grand View is one of few independent, nonprofit community hospitals in its region, and the success of this campaign did a great deal to foster the Hospital’s financial strength. Major gifts from grateful patients played a key role in the campaign, and a strong chairman of the Campaign Steering Committee drove the process of securing major gifts.
